Natural Values Assessments

Comprehensive
Ecological surveys & Environmental reporting
Clear, compliant assessments to support planning applications and responsible development
We undertake Natural Values Assessments (NVA) for a broad range of clients, ranging from small residential developments to large scale mining and exploration projects. All our NVA's are undertaken as per the Tasmanian Government Guidelines for Natural Values Surveys – Terrestrial Development Proposals (NVA Guidelines) and are completed to the highest standard.
Here in Tasmania, NVA's are often a requirement for proposed developments, particularly if vegetation clearing will occur as a result the development. NVA's identify the fauna, flora, weeds, geoconservation and vegetation communities present on a site. From this report, management actions can be developed to ensure that potential impacts on any significant natural values are minimised or eliminated. Natural values refer to biological and geological values of conservation significance, including species, vegetation communities, and sites listed under the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995, and Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, and the Nature Conservation Act 2002.
